Statement 27/10/01

Due to the disappointingly low levels of interest and commitment generated, GPFC have been forced to concede that the development of a Ladies Section is not a viable proposition at this time. Consequently all activities have been suspended but may be resurrected some time in the future.

The number of interested parties has now risen to seven, one person plays for her University and another plays a decent standard for Langford Ladies, a 3rd is a PE teacher (by her own admission, with no talent for football), the others are just keen.

We are going to try and create a ladies football team to play friendlies in the coming season then apply for league status the season after. Notices are going out and adverts placed in the local press. Anyone interested in either playing or getting involved in the management/administration should contact the club secretary on 01480 475413 (regardless of ability).
