16th September 1995: Offord (H) WON 16-1 "Spree whiz" Great Paxton made mincemeat of a depleted Offord side in their Hunts Junior Cup first round tie. Paxton won 16-1 to set a club scoring record and pile on the agony on the shaky Offord back four, who had nine put past them a fortnight ago by Brampton. Dave Birch scored a hat-trick in 11 minutes with five other players - Matt Plumb, Phil Darby, Gary Page, Martin Hunter and Andy Evans - scoring two apiece. Trevor Barnes' goal, an own goal and Danny Plumb's last-gasp effort made up the sweet sixteen. Authors Note: Two weeks later, one year short of their Centenary, Offord folded.
